Agartala, Nov 07: Royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma-led Tipra Motha will conduct a mass gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on November 12 next. Besides, Tipra Motha supporters will go to Delhi on December 1 next to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

Addressing a press meeting in Agartala on Sunday, Debbarma said, “We were supposed to hold the gathering on November 6 last, however, the concerned authority did not give us permission citing the visit of the Prime Minister. However, now we have the clearance to hold a gathering on November 12 next”.

The party chairman also said that there would not be any rally in Agartala, people will assemble at the Swami Vivekananda Ground peacefully.

Elaborating on other upcoming events, Debbarma said 2000 Tipra Motha supporters from across the state will travel to Delhi to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar.

Earlier, Debbarma attended a public rally at Gandachhera Degree College ground on Sunday in which the chairman of the party Pradyot Kishor Debbarma slammed both the CPM and BJP.

He alleged that the contractors are looting the fund in the name of road construction. The contractors who were looting money during the CPM rule are now making money with BJP flags. He also claimed there is no rule of law in Tripura.

He also claimed that like other parts, the Tiprasa people are being deprived in the Raima valley area as well. Debbarma also referred to Dumboor and said, once it was of Tiprasa, however, Tiprasa were evicted to make it a Tourist spot.

Reiterating that a united fight is the need of the hour, Debbarma said Tiprasa people were divided and are being ruled. A chance for the Tiprasa people has come after 70 years in 2022 – this time there will not be any compromise and we have put up a united fight to get our rights.

During the programme, altogether 3119 voters of 1037 families joined Tipra Motha quitting BJP and IPFT, party sources claimed.
