Tigress & 4 cubs found dead in male Mahadeshwara hills sanctuary –

A tigress and her four cubs have been found dead at the Male Mahadeshwara hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district. According to the forest officials, ​poison is believed to have been laced into the carcass of a cow as bait to kill the tigers. An autopsy of the dead Tigers will be held today. State Forest Minister Eeshwar Khandre has informed that an inquiry has been ordered under the Chief Conservator of Forest, and the report will come within three days. He noted that Karnataka stands second in the country with over 560 Tigers and his Department will work with greater determination and vigilance to improve the ​tiger population in the state under Project Tiger.
