In Badminton, Indian shuttler Tharun Mannepalli’s remarkable run at the Macau Open came to an end today as he lost to Justin Hoh of Malaysia 21-19, 16-21, 16-21 in the men’s singles semifinals. The 23-year-old went down fighting in a closely contested match that lasted an hour and 21 minutes, with Hoh emerging victorious.
 
Meanwhile, fellow Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen is currently battling it out in his semifinal clash against Indonesia’s fifth seed, Alwi Farhan.
 
In other semifinal matchups, Denmark’s Line Christophersen is set to face Riko Gunji of Japan in the women’s singles, while China’s Yu Fei Chen will take on Hsiang Ti Lin of Chinese Taipei.
 
India’s men’s doubles hopes ended in the quarterfinals, as the top-ranked pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost a tight three-game match to Malaysia’s Choong Hon Jian and Muhammad Haikal.
