The Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) qualified youths are going to be recruited this month only. The assurance came from both Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma who also holds the Finance portfolio.

The assurance that they would be appointed before Durga Puja came when the TET qualified job aspirants met both the ministers on Sunday to press for their demand of immediate recruitment. They also wanted all of the TET qualified youths should be appointed together to meet the present teacher shortage crisis in the schools across the state.

There are around 3,631 candidates who have completed TET-I and TET-2 in 2021 and are now waiting for appointment.

There were indications that the department had already begun the file processing to recruit at first go 1200 teachers in two batches (600+ 600). The process would complete as soon as it got the green signal and go-ahead from the Finance department.

While talking to the media a member of the delegation that met the Education Minister said he had committed that all the TET qualified candidates would be recruited together once the proposal was approved by the Finance department. He also assured that the recruitment process would begin before ensuing Durga Puja.

It was then the TET passed job aspirants met Deputy Chief Minister, also Finance Minister Jishnu Dev Varma in his residence. The Finance Minister listened to their demand and assured then that he would look into the matter positively and would do whatever required from the Finance department for their recruitment.

Dev Varma also felt that the TET qualified teachers should be recruited as early as possible to tide over the teacher shortage problems in school.
