Ten solar trainees under MMDUP in Tripura secure placements with private firms, earning Rs 10,000 monthly. The achievement highlights the success of skill development initiatives in boosting youth employability and strengthening the renewable energy workforce.
Ten young trainees from Tripura have taken a significant step toward employment in the renewable energy sector after successfully securing placements following their skill training. The candidates, who completed their course as Solar PV Installers under the Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP), have been offered monthly wage-based jobs in the state.
According to official sources, all ten candidates hail from Unakoti district and have been placed with two private firms—Mahamaya Private Limited and Raima Energy—both operating from West Tripura. Each of the selected trainees will receive a monthly salary of Rs 10,000, marking a promising beginning to their professional careers in the solar energy industry.
The placements are being seen as a direct outcome of the state government’s focused push toward skill-based training and employment generation. The MMDUP scheme has emerged as a key initiative aimed at equipping youth with industry-relevant skills, particularly in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, where demand for trained professionals continues to grow.
To celebrate the achievement, a felicitation programme was organised in which the ten successful candidates were honoured for their dedication and perseverance. Representatives of both employing companies were also felicitated for their role in creating job opportunities and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in the state.
Officials from the Directorate of Skill Development praised the candidates, stating that their success reflects the effectiveness of structured training programmes like MMDUP. They highlighted that such initiatives are crucial in bridging the gap between training and actual employment, ensuring that youth are not only skilled but also job-ready.
