As many as 10 bills were tabled in the assembly on the second day of the sitting on Monday. The Bills included- The Salaries, Allowances, Pension and other Benefits of the Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Government Chief Whip and the Members of the Legislative Assembly (Tripura) (Seventh Amendment) Bill- 2022 and The Tripura Police (Second Amendment) Bill- 2022. The Factories (Tripura Amendment) Ordinance- 2022 was also moved in the assembly on Monday.

Participating in the discussion on Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya’s speech Education Minister stressed on the state government’s endeavour for Atmanirbhar Tripura, model Tripura and generating income scope to every household.

During his speech Nath sought to take a dig at the previous government saying that people of the state were made reluctant to work but now Tripura was marching towards becoming a model state.

He said, Biplab Kumar Deb is the only Chief Minister of the state who made a call for Atmanirbhar Tripura.

In support of the Governor’s speech, chief whip of the assembly Kalyani Roy said the BJP government has been formed with a historic mandate. The government has been promptly working for an overall development of the state since the beginning.

She also informed the House that the state government had taken steps for development and empowerment of women.

MLA Dhananjoy Tripura, MLA Sudhangshu Das and MLA Ranjit Das also took part in the discussion supporting the Governor’s address.

On the other hand, Left MLAs- Tapan Chakraborty, Sahid Chaudhury, Bijita Nath and Jashbir Tripura delivered their speech opposing the Governor’s address. The House accepted the motion of thanks.

The House observed two minutes of silence in memory of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and dance maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj.
