The investigation into the murder of Pranoy Dey, alias June, has entered a crucial phase, with Teliamura Police conducting a crime scene reconstruction on Sunday in the presence of prime accused Krishnadhan Sarkar. The exercise was carried out at the location where the murder allegedly took place on September 17, as investigators intensified efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The reconstruction was conducted as part of a three-day police remand granted to the accused by the Khowai District Court following his arrest. Police brought Sarkar to the crime scene under extensive security arrangements to examine the sequence of events and verify details related to the incident.
According to information available, the accused demonstrated different aspects of the alleged crime before the investigating team. During the exercise, police examined the location and attempted to understand how the incident unfolded. The murder of Pranoy Dey, popularly known as June, on September 17 had drawn considerable attention in the Teliamura area. Following the incident, police continued searching for the accused and pursuing various leads to establish the circumstances behind the killing.
The investigation received fresh momentum after Krishnadhan Sarkar, identified by police as the prime accused, was arrested following a prolonged period in hiding. After his arrest, police produced him before the Khowai District Court, which subsequently granted three days of police custody for further interrogation.
The custodial interrogation has provided investigators an opportunity to question the accused about his alleged involvement and examine different aspects of the murder. The Sunday reconstruction was considered an important part of these investigative proceedings.
The operation was conducted under heavy security arrangements, considering the sensitivity of the case and the attention it has received from local residents. A significant contingent of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel accompanied the police team to maintain security during the reconstruction.
Several officials were present during the exercise, including DCM Jinius Debbarma, the investigating officer and Second Officer-in-Charge of Teliamura Police Station, Inspector Bikash Debbarma, Inspector Jugal Tripura and other police personnel.

However, police have not yet disclosed whether Sunday’s reconstruction resulted in the discovery of fresh evidence or any significant breakthrough. Investigators have also not officially revealed the suspected motive behind the murder or provided details regarding any possible involvement of other individuals.
Officials are expected to analyse the accused’s statements and demonstrations alongside the available evidence as the investigation progresses. The remaining period of police remand is likely to be important for examining inconsistencies, verifying the sequence of events and gathering additional information.
