Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) deferred the Term-II Higher Secondary examinations including Madrasa Fazil. However, the Madhyamik examinations would take place as per the schedule, a Board official said on Wednesday.

TBSE president Dr. Bhavatosh Saha said, the Higher Secondary examinations were scheduled to commence from April 25. But, the schedule for JEE Main has changed recently and it would now be held between April 24 and April 29.

“Around 3000 to 3500 students from Tripura appear in the JEE main. Naturally, it will not be a good decision to conduct the HS exams starting from April 25. Now, the Higher Secondary (Term-II) examinations including Madrasa Fazil will commence from May 2 and continue till June 1 next. The schedule for Madhyamik examinations will remain unchanged,” Dr. Saha announced in a press conference.

Speaking to the media, he said total 28,841 candidates would appear in the Term-II Higher Secondary examinations and the subject sequence would remain the same in the revised schedule.

According to the new schedule, the HS (+2) Exams will start with the examination on English subject on May 2 while the examinations for Bengali, Hindi, Kokbarok and Mizo would be held on May 5.
