Mumbai: Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran was awarded the highest civilian honour of France Chevalier de la Lgion dHonneurthe highest honour in France by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.

The 59-year-old received the award in recognition of his major contributions to strengthening and promoting bilateral trade and business ties between India and France.

The French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain wrote on Twitter, calling Chandrasekaran a true friend of France.

Chandrasekaran assumed the position of Tata Sons chairman in 2017, succeeding Cyrus Mistry. In February 2022, he was reappointed for a second term of five years, highlighting confidence in his leadership and strategic vision.

In April, Ratan Tata, Tata Group Chairman Emeritus, was honoured with Australias highest civilian award, the highest civilian award of Australia-Order of Honour-by Australias High Commissioner to India Barry OFarrell.
