Tanvi Sharma to face Nozomi Okuhara in Orleans Masters semifinals

In Orleans Masters Badminton, India’s Tanvi Sharma will take on former world champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in the semifinals of Women’s Singles at Palais des Sports in France this evening. Tanvi defeated Japan’s sixth seed Natsuki Nidaira 21-14, 21-14 in the quarter-final clash yesterday. 
 
In the last four clashes, India’s Isharani Baruah will face Thailand’s Pitchamon Opatniputh tonight. Isharani stormed into the semi-final after Malvika Bansod retired midway during the Women’s Singles quarter-final match while lagging 9-21, 7-15 in an all-Indian clash.
 
Earlier in the day, Indian Men’s Doubles pair of Arjun Madathil Ramachandran and Hariharan Amsakarunan bowed out of the tournament after losing to the Indonesian duo of Bagas Maulana and Leo Carnando 12-21, 20-22 in the quarterfinal.
