Fresh violence in Takarjala sparks tension after the house of BJP Mandal president Nirmal Debbarma was vandalized during political unrest. Clashes between party supporters and police left multiple injured, including SP Sepahijala Bijay Debbarma, raising serious concerns over law and order in the region.

Takarjala witnessed a serious escalation of political violence after the residence of BJP Mandal President and Takarjala–Jampuijala constituency candidate Nirmal Debbarma was vandalized during a tense confrontation between political groups. The incident, which unfolded in the presence of BJP State president Rajib Bhattacharjee, has triggered widespread concern over deteriorating law and order conditions in the region.

The attack took place in the Lampakrai Khami area under Takarjala police station limits, where supporters of rival political groups reportedly clashed. The situation quickly escalated from verbal disputes to violent confrontation, resulting in chaos and panic among local residents. According to reports, the house and office of Nirmal Debbarma were damaged during the incident, further intensifying political tensions in the area.

The situation worsened when an attempted attack led to a direct confrontation with security forces. In the ensuing clashes, at least 15 police personnel were injured, including Sepahijala Superintendent of Police Bijay Debbarma. The injured officers were immediately shifted to Bisramganj hospital for treatment.

Following the outbreak of violence, a large contingent of police forces was deployed to bring the situation under control. Senior officials confirmed that additional reinforcements were rushed to the spot to prevent further escalation. Although authorities have stated that the situation is now under control, tension continues to prevail in the locality.

Officials reported that the clashes intensified when police personnel attempted to disperse the gathering crowd. Stones and other objects were reportedly hurled at security forces, leading to injuries among officers. Despite repeated efforts to restore calm, the situation remained volatile for several hours.

Allegations have been directed towards supporters of the Tipra Motha Party, although no official confirmation has been made by authorities. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact sequence of events and identify those responsible for the violence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leadership strongly condemned the attack. BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee stated that the violence reflects a growing trend of unrest in TTAADC areas and called for strict action against those involved. He also alleged that political rivals were attempting to destabilize peaceful campaigning in the region.

On the ground, police sources described a highly charged atmosphere where initial verbal confrontations between supporters quickly escalated into physical violence. According to officials, supporters of rival groups were engaged in heated exchanges during campaign activities, which eventually spiraled into clashes.

Senior police officer Bijay Debbarma, Superintendent of Police of Sepahijala district, was among those injured while attempting to control the situation. Reports suggest he sustained injuries during stone-pelting incidents while trying to restore order at the site.

The unrest also led to large-scale mobilisation of political supporters from both sides, further complicating the situation. Local residents reported fear and uncertainty as the violence unfolded, with many expressing concern over repeated clashes in the region.

Residents of Takarjala voiced strong dissatisfaction with the ongoing political tensions, stating that ordinary citizens are increasingly caught in the middle of rival group confrontations. Many have urged authorities to take strict and decisive measures to ensure peace and prevent further deterioration of law and order.

In response to the situation, police have maintained heightened surveillance in the area. Additional forces continue to remain deployed to prevent any fresh outbreak of violence. Officials have also confirmed that further legal and administrative actions will be taken based on the findings of ongoing investigations.

Authorities are now under pressure to restore public confidence and ensure that political activities proceed without further disruption.

As of now, the situation remains tense but under control, with security forces closely monitoring developments in Takarjala to prevent any renewed escalation.
