Tafajjal Hossain and Bindu  Debnath two BJP MLAs who were elected recently from Boxanagar and Dhanpur, are set to be sworn in as members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on September 12 next,. This development comes after their resounding victories in the bye-polls.

As per an official government press release, the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the assembly lobby at 12 pm on September 12.

In the Boxanagar constituency, Tafajjal Hossain secured a decisive victory with 33,849 votes, while his closest competitor, CPM’s Mizan Hussain, received only 3,884 votes. This election outcome underscores Hossain’s popularity in the minority-dominated Boxanagar seat.

Similarly, in the Dhanpur constituency, BJP’s Bindu Debnath emerged victorious with an impressive lead of 18,625 votes over her nearest rival, Kaushik Chanda of the CPM. The substantial margin of victory highlights the strong mandate received by Bindu Debnath from the voters in Dhanpur.

The bye-elections for these two seats were conducted on September 5, and the official results were declared on September 8. The incoming representatives are expected to play crucial roles in the legislative proceedings and decision-making processes of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
