T20 Men’s World Cup: West Indies becomes first team to enter Super Eights beating Nepal

Must Read

In the T20 Men’s World Cup Cricket, the West Indies have become the first team to enter the Super Eights, beating Nepal by nine wickets in Mumbai. In the group C match, Jason Holder’s 4 wickets restricted Nepal to 133 for 8 despite Dipendra Singh Airee’s unbeaten 58 runs. West Indies overhauled the target in 15.2 overs with 28 balls to spare. Skipper Shai Hope anchored the innings with an unbeaten 61 off 44 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes. He shared an unbroken 91-run partnership for the second wicket with Shimron Hetmyer, who made 46 not out.
Earlier, put in to bat first, Nepal had slumped to 46 for 5 at one time after early strikes from Akeal Hosein and Holder. Airee steadied the innings with a composed 47-ball knock, while Sompal Kami’s 26 not out helped add 54 for the sixth wicket, lifting Nepal past 130. However, the total proved insufficient on a good batting surface as the West Indies registered their third straight win to top Group C.
