Kolkata/IBNS: Chander Pahar, the iconic Bengali adventure film, gets a re-release on September 20, as a tribute to the 130th birth anniversary of the legendary Bengali author Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay.

Originally released in 2013, Chander Pahar had set an unprecedented milestone in the Bengali film industry, becoming the highest-budget Bengali film ever made at the time.

The film also features spectacular cinematography by Soumik Haldar, shot in the wilderness of South Africa, which remains one of its standout achievements.

Adapted from Bibhutibhushans thrilling novel, Chander Pahar follows the epic journey of Shankar Roy Chowdhury, a young Bengali adventurer who travels to Africa in search of fortune and faces wild dangers, mythical creatures, and untamed landscapes.
