The anti-drug campaign must be made successful through implementation of Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura program from grass root level. People from all walks of life must themselves involve in this campaign, stated Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at 2022-23 annual general meeting of Tripura School Sports Board organized at the conference hall of the department, Shiksha Bhawan today. He said, the young generation can be kept away from different kinds of addictive materials only through involving in sports and practicing healthy culture. He called upon everyone to actively participate in building drug-free Tripura. He said, the slogan of drug-free Tripura must be properly implemented and not just remain simply as a slogan. The state government has taken a special step to build Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura and drug-free Tripura. Clubs as well as students also have to be included to it. For this, plans have been taken to distribute different sports materials to different clubs of the state staring this year. Target has been taken to distribute sports items to 1500 clubs of the state this year. He said, it is possible to build a healthy society besides building a drug-free Tripura through sports, street dramas and cultural programme and different meetings etc.

General Secretary of Tripura School Sports Board Paimong Mog discussed about different schemes in financial year 2021-22 in Tripura through a documentary. He also elaborately discussed on various schemes of the present financial year. It was known in the meeting that 1 crore 74 lakh 28 thousand 329 rupees has been spent in the previous financial year for development of sports of the state. Target has been taken to spend 2 crore 52 lakh 30 thousand 490 rupees has been spent in the present financial year under different schemes for sports development. Sports competitions at different events and distribution sports items in all districts of the state are being organized according to the target. The General Secretary informed that through this, sports will commence under Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura scheme. The state-block level sports competitions will continue till February and the rest will conclude within December.
The meeting was presided over by Director of Youth Affairs & Sports department Subikash Debbarma. Sports officials from different districts of the state were also present in the meeting.
