According to a volunteer group and local media, the ammonia fuel station, in Mayo neighborhood, north of Bashair Hospital, was bombed, resulting in significant human and material losses. A Sudanese news portal has confirmed that 28 people were killed and 37 others injured in the bombardment. So far, no party has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Sudan has been gripped by a devastating conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since mid-April 2023. According to estimates by international organisations, the deadly conflict has resulted in more than 27,120 deaths and displaced over 14 million people, either inside or outside Sudan.
