Chief Minister has announced hike in the social allowances from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday launching Prati Ghore Sushasan’ campaign at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Saturday . The campaign aimed at making people aware of the schemes and projects launched by the central government as well as state government.
The increased social allowances would come into effect from this month -September. At present there are 25 social allowances that were being given by the state government.
The hike in the social allowances was quite substantial in comparison to the amount that had been given during the Left front time – it was Rs. 700. When the BJP-IPFT government came the allownaces was increased to Rs 1000.
On the occasion which was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, DGP Amitabh Ranjan, Secretary of Ica department Pradip Kumar Chakraborty and many other officials the Chief Minister also released the campaign song (Bengali and Kokborok), dashboard of ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan’ campaign and a booklet in Bengali, Kokobrok and English languages.
In the programme, the Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated 24×7 services of North Maharanipur Primary Health Centre.
The Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to ensure the benefits of various schemes to the people for ensuring socio-economic development. He said, various flagship schemes of state and central governments were being implemented in the state. The campaign was launched to complete the remaining works by November next.
