In Sri Lanka, a sudden islandwide power outage was reported, affecting multiple regions across the country. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has said that supply has been restored to most parts of the island.
According to Power Minister Kumara Jayakodi, a monkey clashing with the Panadura grid substation had caused the power outage. However, the Ministry of Power and Energy described the situation as an “emergency at the Panadura substation”.
