Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated the Beach Games at the Ghoghala Beach in the Union Territory of Diu. The Sports festival is being organised from today to the 11th of January. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged Khelo India and Fit India campaigns in the country.
Mr Thakur further said that due to this festival, Beach sports will also be promoted in other beach-bearing States and Union Territories of the country. He said that by organising this festival, new dimensions will be established and the culture and tourism will also get a boost in the Union Territory. More than 1200 players are participating in this Sports festival.
