The Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) today opened a special exhibition titled, Walking with Legacy: From Necessity to Identity, in New Delhi. The exhibition offers a curated selection of walking sticks and batons drawn from the museum’s reserve collection. The display highlights the craftsmanship, artistic detail, and symbolic meanings of these objects, examining their roles as emblems of leadership, authority, social status, and personal identity. The exhibition will be open to visitors till the 24th of this month.Several items on view are associated with notable leaders and eminent personalities, providing historical context and personal stories that bring the collection to life. The exhibition is part of the museum’s effort to increase public access to its reserve holdings and to deepen appreciation for India’s diverse cultural heritage.
