Sohraab Singh Talwar won the Category C title at the IGU Northern India Junior Boys Championship, securing his maiden career victory with a three-shot margin at Chandigarh Golf Club.
Roundglass Golf Academy (RGGA) athlete Sohraab Singh Talwar produced a commanding performance to claim his maiden career title at the IGU Northern India Junior Boys Golf Championship at the Chandigarh Golf Club. Demonstrating consistency, precision and composure throughout the competition, the young golfer secured the Boys Category C crown with a three-shot victory over his closest rival.
Talwar began his championship campaign with a steady opening round of 74, keeping himself firmly within contention at the top of the leaderboard. Rather than allowing the pressure of a competitive junior tournament to affect his performance, the RGGA prospect responded impressively over the following two rounds.
He found his best rhythm on the second day, carding an excellent under-par round of 71. Talwar maintained that momentum in the final round, once again shooting 71 to complete a remarkable back-to-back under-par finish. His consistent performance across the three rounds earned him a winning aggregate of 216, finishing at level par overall.
The victory saw Talwar finish comfortably ahead of Delhi’s Shan Alvi, who took the runner-up position with a total of 219 after rounds of 72, 72 and 75. Uttar Pradesh’s Kabir Goyal secured third place with an aggregate of 221, following scores of 71, 74 and 76.
Talwar’s three-shot triumph marks an important milestone in his developing golfing career. His ability to recover from a solid opening round and produce consecutive under-par scores in the closing stages highlighted both his technical ability and mental strength. The result also underlines the growing impact of RGGA’s structured development programme for young golfers.
Roundglass Golf Academy enjoyed another notable performance through fellow athlete Rudraj Diwan. Diwan finished 16th in the tournament with a total score of 250, recording rounds of 79, 86 and 85.
