In Telangana, rescuers recovered one more body from the partially collapsed Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) Tunnel project in Nagarkurnool district after over a month. District Collector Badavath Santhosh informed the media that the body was located during the search operation yesterday. With this, the total number of bodies found so far becomes two.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, who worked as an engineer with the contract firm of the tunnel project. The body was shifted to a government hospital for other procedures as per the norms. An official statement said the mortal remains of the deceased will be sent to his native place in Unnao district of UP.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the authorities that the search operation continue till all those trapped are located. It may be recalled that 8 persons including two engineers were trapped in the tunnel when it collapsed last month.
