Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reviewed the implementations of the externally aided projects in Tripura soon after her arrival in the city on Friday morning.Later he also went to visit Gandhigram vaccination centre and also JAICA project at Hatipara.
On her arrival Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and BJP president Dr Manik Saha received the Union minister at MBB Airport.
From there Sitharaman went to state guest house where she attended the Externally Aided Project’s review meeting with Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief secretary Kumar Alok and several other senior officials. The Union Finance Minister was briefed about the projects and progress in their implemanttions. These projects are aimed mostly to enhance the livelihood quality and economic conditions of the people.
Deputy CM Shri Jishnu Devvarma ji and other officials were present on the occasion.
Official sources said , Sitharaman appeared convinced and happy at the project implementation process and assured help from her end.
Later she went to a vaccination centre at Gandhigram where Director Health Services Dr Radha Debbarma welcomed her. She was accompanied by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
From there the Union Finance Minister visited the JAICA project at Hatipara along with the Chief Minister where she planted a sapling. There PCCF D K Sharma briefed her about the JAICA projects and related matters.
The Union Finance Minister will stay here tonight at State Guest House and visit Matabari on Saturday.
She is also expected to visit some other projects on spot and review their progress.
State government is also likely to present some proposals for her considerations, officias said.
