PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School Namchi, Sikkim, is the only educational institution to receive a Green School Rating from the entire Northeastern states. Green Carnival and Green School Award Ceremony 2025 was organised by the Centre for Science and Environment, CSE, in New Delhi yesterday.
Green Carnival and Green Award Ceremony is the annual event organised by the CSE to engage young environmentalists from various schools across the country. Awards are presented to schools which are rated ‘green’ after evaluating and analysing the Green School Audit reports spanning from July-December.
The reports are submitted by schools of the Green School Programme Network from all states and union territories of the country. According to the report of CSE, there were more than 10,000 schools which submitted Green School Audit reports, out of which only 150 schools were rated Green School for the session 2024-25 from across the country.
