Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) inaugurated the 300-foot Bailey Suspension Bridge, known as the Indrani Bridge, over the Teesta River at Singtam.
This bridge, constructed by Project Swastik of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), replaces a previous bridge destroyed by catastrophic flash floods on October 4, 2023.
The CM emphasized that restoring road connectivity in Sikkim, especially after such disasters, is a top priority for the government.
He praised the BRO’s role in Sikkim’s economic and infrastructure development.
The project, completed in record time, reconnects South and East Sikkim, aiding in the region’s recovery and future development.
Senior state officials and BRO representatives attended the inauguration.
