New Delhi/IBNS: In a big breakthrough in Shraddha Walkar murder case, the DNA of her father matched with the dismembered bones recovered from South Delhis Mehrauli forest area, Central Forensic Science Laboratory report has confirmed, media reported.

Shraddha Walkar lived with her boyfriend Aftab Ameen Poonawala in an apartment in Delhis Mehrauli. On May 18, Aftab allegedly strangled her to death and chopped her body into 35 pieces after a heated argument broke out between them. Later, he disposed of the dismembered body parts in Mehrauli forest area.

The report also confirmed that the traces of blood found in their flat also matched hers.

Aaftab also underwent different sessions of a polygraph test and a narco analysis test after a Delhi court gave permission for the same.

Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials said that Aaftab confessed to killing Shraddha Walkar during the polygraph test and said he felt no remorse about murdering his girlfriend, according to media reports.

The report of Poonawalas polygraph test was submitted to the police by the forensic sciences lab on Wednesday, India Today reported.

Shraddhas father, Vikas Walkar told the news publication that he was sad as the reports confirmed his daughter was no longer alive. I am now confirmed that the body parts recovered from Mehrauli forest were that of Shraddhas. I feel sad and it is now confirmed that my daughter is no longer in this world.

After Aftabs confession, police combed through various forest areas and even emptied a pond in Madangir to look for her missing body parts.

Delhi Police arrested Aaftab on November 12.

The crime came to light gradually after her father went to the police in their hometown in Maharashtra sometime in October.

Aftab managed to get away with the murder for five to six months.
