Sensex, Nifty Close Lower; Broader Market Ends Higher

Benchmark domestic equity indices ended the final trading session of the quarter around 0.3 per cent lower. The Sensex fell 250 points to close at 76 thousand 479, while the Nifty lost 81 points to settle at 23 thousand 866.
However, the broader market on the National Stock Exchange ended in positive territory. The Midcap 100 index added 0.4 percent and the Smallcap 100 index surged one percent.
