Benchmark domestic equity indices, the Sensex and the Nifty, ended higher for the sixth day in a row. The markets started week on a positive note, and extended gains throughout the session. The Sensex rose 388 points, or 0.46 per cent to close at 84,951, while the Nifty advanced 103 points, or 0.4 per cent to settle at 26,013. The broader market indices at the Bombay Stock Exchange also displayed strong momentum. The Mid-Cap index gained over 0.6 per cent, and the Small-Cap index increased almost 0.6 per cent.
