Senior journalist Gautam Kar Bhowmik of Tripura passed away on Wednesday after few months of ailments. He was 65 and survived by wife and a son.
He started his career as a sports reporter and was associated with Bengali daily Dainik Sambad. He was also a teacher ina city school. Kar Bhowmik , an amiable gentleman was also associated with several sports bodies.
His mortal remains were brought to Agartala Press Club and later consigned to funeral pyre at Battala Crematorium.
The news of his demise brought a pall of gloom among the media fraternity and sports circles. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, several journalists bodies condoled the death of Kar Bhowmik.
