Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury, a senior New Delhi-based journalist with over two decades of experience in covering international relations, has recently been awarded a prestigious honour by the Italian government.

At a solemn ceremony held in New Delhi on April 12, Dipanjan was presented Cavaliere DellOrdine della Stella dItalia by the Italian Govt on behalf of the President of Italy.

The honour was extended to Dipanjan by the current Italian Ambassador to India Vincenzo De Luca.

In the words of Ambassador Luca, Dipanjan, who presently covers the External Affairs Ministry, has been instrumental in promoting India-Italy partnership including during the challenging period of Covid-19. The honour is rare of its kind and Dipanjan is among the youngest recipients of the award.

Currently a diplomatic editor with the Economic Times, Indias No 1 economic and political publication, Dipanjan is responsible for the coverage of international affairs for the prestigious daily.

An author of books on Central Asia, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam, Dipanjans assignments have taken him to various locations across the globe including Africa, Europe, USA, West Asia, Russia, Eurasia, SE Asia and Australia.

In 2015 Dipanjan was International Leadership Visitor Prog fellow in the USA and earlier he has attended a course in Taiwans Defence College and a prestigious journalism institute in Germany.
