n stone for 100-seated Girl’s Hostel in Rangamati Higher Secondary School of Amarpur sub-division. He said, students below poverty line and of remote areas of the sub-division will be able to attain education once the Girl’s Hostel is built. Not just in Amarpur, but two 50-seated Girl’s Hostel will be built in Sabroom as well as in Kumarghat. Prior to that, construction work of five hostels was taken. Among those, a hostel has already been inaugurated recently in Agartala.
SC Welfare Minister said, the present government has taken various plans for the welfare of SC community. Financial assistance is being provided to merit students belonging to SC community. Loans are also being provided by the SC Corporation to a large number of people belonging to the community to help them become self-reliant through buying vehicles, auto-rickshaws etc.,. Loans for business purposes are also being provided to many. He said, ducklings, chicks, goat cubs and piglets are being distributed to ensure socio-economic development of rural people under different schemes by ARDD. Veterinary mobile van service will be commenced soon next month which will prove to be beneficial to animal rearers.
MLA Ranjit Das in the programme said, the state government is tirelessly working towards development of people from all sections. Welcome speech was delivered by Joint Director of SC Welfare department Tokhirai Debbarma. The programme was presided over by Rangamati Panchayat Pradhan Bulti Das Majumder. A goat cub was given to each of 25 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhudyay Yojana. A piglet was given to each of 25 beneficiaries under the same scheme along with feed and necessary medicines. Other dignitaries present there were Chairperson of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Bikash Saha, Vice Chairperson of Amarpur Panchayat Samiti Shankarananda Saha and SDM Asit Kumar Das.
