In Ladakh, the Sarhad Shauryathon 2025 was held today at the historic Kargil War Memorial in Dras. The event was organised by Indian Army, in collaboration with Sarhad Foundation, Pune, and the local civil administration of Kargil. The marathon, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of over two thousand five hundred athletes from across the country, was flagged off by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Shinde said that the massive turnout of more than 2500 athletes from all over the country, particularly after the recent Pahalgam terror attack, reflected the nation’s unshakable trust in the Indian Army. He lauded the efforts of the Army and Sarhad Foundation in organising the event ahead of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, calling it a significant step in promoting peace, patriotism, and tourism in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Mr. Shinde handed over a cheque of three crore rupees to Lieutenant General Ritesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding of the 14 Corps, on behalf of the Government of Maharashtra for the development and upgradation of the Kargil War Memorial.

Referring to the recent Operation Sindoor, the Deputy Chief Minister said that India has shown its true strength, and Pakistan has received a befitting reply.
