Air India Flight AI171, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport shortly after takeoff. The tragedy has not only shaken the general public but has also triggered an outpouring of grief and condolences from prominent figures in the Indian entertainment industry. Leading Bollywood actor Salman Khan took to his Instagram stories to share his sorrow. “Deeply saddened to hear about the Ahmedabad plane crash… Heartfelt prayers for the families of the passengers, crew and all those affected,” he wrote.

As a gesture of respect and mourning, Salman Khan also canceled a scheduled press conference in Mumbai, where he was to be introduced as the new face of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL). Co-founders of ISRL, Veer Patel and Ishan Lokhande, along with Khan, jointly decided to call off the event after learning about the crash. A press note from the organizers read: “Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr. Salman Khan stand by the Nation united in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families. Jointly, we have made a responsible decision to reschedule this event to a further date.”

Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, also expressed his grief on social media. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, he wrote, “Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad… my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected.”

Another Bollywood icon, Aamir Khan, shared his condolences through a post from his team. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash that occurred today. At this moment of profound loss, our thoughts, and condolences are with the families of those affected.”

The television industry, too, has been emotionally impacted by the heartbreaking incident. ‘Anupamaa’ actress Rupali Ganguly tweeted, “The visuals of the plane crash in Ahmedabad are heart-wrenching, a heartfelt prayer for the safety of all passengers and crew members.”

Eijaz Khan, known for his role in ‘Bigg Boss 14’, shared a somber message, “There are no right words to express one’s grief and shock at this time. My heartfelt condolences to everyone who lost a loved one and prayers that we find more survivors.”

Singer Rahul Vaidya expressed his shock, posting on Instagram, “Have no words for the Air India crash.. It’s made me go numb. Worst aviation disasters. Om shanti.”

Popular influencer and actress Jannat Zubair also voiced her pain: “What happened in Ahmedabad today is just devastating. A plane full of people… gone within minutes. It’s hard to even put into words how heavy this feels. Thinking of every life lost, and every family left behind. This really broke something inside today.”

Karan Tacker, Arjan Bajwa, and Karan Kundrra also took to social media to express their heartbreak, offering condolences and hoping for survivors. “Devastated to learn about the tragic crash in Ahmedabad,” Tacker wrote. Arjan Bajwa mentioned, “Shocked and saddened by the crashing of #AirIndia flight 171 today. Prayers for the people involved in the horrific accident.” Meanwhile, Karan Kundrra expressed hope, saying, “Very shocking news… I really wish and pray that some miracle happens and there are survivors who come out safe!”

As the investigation unfolds and emergency services continue their operations, the nation stands united in grief. Celebrities and common citizens alike are offering prayers and support to the affected families, hoping for strength and healing in this moment of unimaginable sorrow.
