Bollywood superstar Salman Khan praised the film industry’s support for debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who star in the upcoming romantic musical drama Saiyaara. Directed by Mohit Suri and backed by Yash Raj Films, the movie marks a fresh collaboration and releases on July 18.
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan has shared his delight and appreciation for the film industry’s encouragement towards newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who are set to make their acting debuts in the upcoming romantic musical drama Saiyaara. Taking to his Instagram stories, the ‘Sultan’ actor expressed heartfelt support and wished the young actors a successful journey in cinema.
Salman posted a promotional poster of Saiyaara featuring the lead pair and wrote, “It is so nice to see the love two debutants are getting from the industry and the country. So happy for them and their parents, who I have known since we were kids. @ahaanpanday @aneetpadda @mohitsuri.”
The social media gesture has garnered widespread attention and added a boost of visibility to the upcoming release. Salman’s words not only reflect his goodwill but also reaffirm the industry’s tradition of nurturing new talent.
Ahaan Panday, son of Chikki Panday and Deanne Panday, comes from a well-known Bollywood family. His uncle, Chunky Panday, is a veteran actor, and his cousin, Ananya Panday, is already making her mark in the industry. Ahaan has often been in the limelight for his potential acting debut, and Saiyaara now officially marks the beginning of his career in the spotlight.
Aneet Padda, on the other hand, has gained recognition for her commendable performance in the acclaimed web series Big Girls Don’t Cry. Her entry into mainstream Bollywood with Saiyaara opens up new avenues for her as an actor.
The film Saiyaara, a romantic musical drama, is set to hit theatres on July 18 and brings together a fresh cast under an experienced team. The project is a significant collaboration between Yash Raj Films (YRF), one of India’s leading production houses, and filmmaker Mohit Suri, known for directing emotional and musically rich love stories like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.
Director Mohit Suri had previously shared his excitement about casting Ahaan and Aneet. Speaking to the media, Suri revealed how the casting process was critical to him and how discovering the two actors reinvigorated his interest in making Saiyaara.
“I wouldn’t have made Saiyaara if I hadn’t found formidable actors like Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. I was honestly thinking about making something else before my path crossed with Yash Raj Films that was looking for a young love story and was grooming Ahaan and Aneet to star in such a film,” Suri said.
He further added, “No one expects newcomers to have Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt’s level of acting right away, but they need to be convincing on screen. I wasn’t finding debutants with that spark. I had almost given up on the idea of making this script with newcomers until I met Ahaan and Aneet.”
The upcoming release is being closely watched by fans and industry insiders alike, not only because of the debut performances but also due to the pedigree of those involved. With Salman Khan’s public endorsement, the buzz around Saiyaara has intensified.
The industry’s support, as seen in Salman’s gesture, highlights a positive culture where established actors lend their voice to uplift emerging talent. It also emphasizes the significance of industry veterans in shaping the careers of newcomers, especially in a competitive space like Bollywood.
