On Monday, the Bhutanese delegation had called on Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar in Parliament.

The delegation had also called on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday who said that India would always be a reliable friend to Bhutan and noted the Rs 2,400-crore allocation for Bhutan in this years Union Budget.

Birla said the Neighbourhood First policy, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given a new direction to India-Bhutan relations.
