Convoy of MP from East Tripura Parliamentary constituency Rebati Tripura today got stuck at Atharamura hills as locals of the 46 Miles area staged a road blockade. According to the agitators, a good number of families had been evicted from the area due to expansion of national highways. Though they had respected the government orders and left their homes they did not receive the compensation money that was supposed to be released by now. Large number of vehicles queued in both sides of the blockades bringing the vehicular movement in the National Highway to an unprecedented standstill. The MP wasted no time and reached out to the people staging the blockades. After being convinced by the MP, the blockade was lifted. The MP said that he would take initiatives by Monday to address their grievances.
