Results Declared for 301 of 309 Urban Local Bodies in Rajasthan; BJP Forms Boards in 197 Urban Local Bodies

Results have been declared for 301 out of the 309 urban local bodies that went to polls in Rajasthan. The Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the dominant party, successfully forming boards in 197 urban local bodies, while the Congress has formed boards in 94.
 
Independent candidates have been elected as chairpersons in seven urban local bodies. Candidates of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, Aam Aadmi Party and CPI(M) have also been elected as chairpersons at one urban local body each.
 
 
Results for five municipal corporations were declared today. The BJP won four, while the Congress succeeded in forming the board in Bikaner.
 
BJP candidates were elected as mayors in Alwar, Udaipur, Ajmer and Pali. 
 
BJP candidates have already been elected unopposed as mayors in Bharatpur and Bhilwara.
 
Meanwhile, elections for the post of Mayor in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota Municipal Corporations will be held on September 25. The results will also be declared on the same day.
 
State BJP President Madan rathore said that the people of Rajasthan have expressed their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He expressed confidence that the BJP would also register a major victory in the forthcoming Panchayati Raj elections.
