In a recent minor reshuffle of administrative positions in Tripura, several significant changes have been made to key positions across various departments. According to the transfer order, Smitha Mal, who was previously serving as the Director of Social Welfare & Social Education (SW&SE) with the additional responsibility of Director, Elementary Education, has been transferred and appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of South Tripura. This change is part of a broader effort to optimize the administration’s efficiency and effectiveness.
Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, the incumbent DM of South Tripura, has been transferred and posted as DM of Sepahijala, taking over the responsibilities in this district. The reshuffle also includes Animesh Debbarma, the Additional Director of Food, who has been transferred and appointed as Director of Higher Education. This move aims to leverage Debbarma’s experience and expertise in enhancing the higher education sector in the state.
Prashant Badal Negi, who was serving as the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) and Collector of West Tripura, has been transferred and posted as the Director of Tourism and Managing Director (MD) of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) Ltd. This appointment is expected to bring new vigor and direction to the state’s tourism initiatives. The incumbent Director of Tourism, Tapan Kumar Das, has been transferred and will now serve as the Director of SW&SE.
Lalnunnemi Darlong, previously the Director of OBC Welfare and MD of the OBC Welfare Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd., has been appointed as the Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Muhammad Sajad P., who was serving as the Additional Commissioner of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) with additional charge as the Additional CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited, will now also hold the charge of Director of OBC Welfare and MD of the OBC Welfare Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd.
Additionally, N.C. Sharma, who was the Director of Higher and Secondary Education with additional responsibilities as Director of SCERT and State Project Director (SPD) of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), has been relieved from the charges of Director of Higher Education and SCERT. Sharma will now also hold the charge of Director of Elementary Education, focusing on the foundational educational framework within the state.
These changes are part of a strategic move by the state government to ensure that the administrative machinery operates smoothly and efficiently, addressing the evolving needs and challenges of the state. The new appointments and transfers are expected to bring fresh perspectives and enhanced focus to the respective departments, contributing to the overall development of Tripura.
