In U.S, Celebrations are unfolding in Florida as Republican candidate Donald Trump inches closer to a potential victory over Democrat Kamala Harris in the ongoing U.S. presidential election.

The mood in the Trump camp is one of optimism and excitement, while Harris’s supporters have grown more somber. In a sign of shifting momentum, Harris has canceled her planned address at Howard University, her alma mater, where she had hoped to rally her base.

Meanwhile, Trump is poised to make a triumphant appearance in Palm Beach, addressing an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, buoyed by confidence in his campaign’s progress. This contrast between the two camps reflects the growing anticipation surrounding a possible Trump win as vote counts continue.

In this highly competitive election, voters are choosing between Kamala Harris, who could make history as the first woman president, and Donald Trump, who is vying for a non-consecutive second term.  Trump, just three electoral votes shy of victory, has won the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, according to U.S. media reports.

After casting his ballot in Florida, Trump expressed confidence in his campaign but also raised concerns about the security of electronic voting systems. In a significant development, Trump regained the lead in Georgia, a state that supported Democrats in 2020, adding its 16 electoral votes to his tally.

In Congress, the Republican Party has reclaimed control of the Senate, winning key seats in Ohio and West Virginia, strengthening Trump’s position for future appointments should he secure the presidency.

Harris, however, achieved an important victory in Nebraska’s second district, keeping her path to victory alive as she focuses on other critical battlegrounds like Wisconsin and Michigan. Additionally, Suhas Subramanyam made history by becoming the first Indian American elected to public office in Virginia, defeating Republican Mike Clancy.

Harris secured New Hampshire, adding the state’s four electoral votes to her tally and maintaining a two-decade Democratic trend. This marks the third time Trump has won New Hampshire’s Republican primary but lost the general election. Harris also triumphed in Virginia, claiming the state’s 13 electoral votes for the Democrats.

Multiple news outlets, including NBC News and CNN, have projected Trump as the winner in Pennsylvania, a vital state that brings him closer to the presidency. Currently, Trump leads in five out of seven key battleground states and has won two-Georgia and North Carolina.

Harris is trailing in four battleground states: Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The status of Nevada, another important swing state, remains undecided.

At a GOP watch party in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trump supporters erupted in celebration as Fox News projected him as the likely winner. Chants of “Trump! Trump! Trump!” filled the air. However, with several swing states, including Nevada, still in play, major outlets like the Associated Press have not yet declared a winner in Pennsylvania or the overall election.
