Global crude oil prices rose today as reports of attacks on vessels near the Strait of Hormuz revived fears of supply disruptions. Brent crude was trading nearly 0.9 per cent up at 72 US dollars and 61 cents per barrel. West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.7 per cent up at 69 US dollars and one cent per barrel, when reports last came in.
