Power minister Ratan Lal Nath conducted a surprise visit to the Banamalipur power sub-station accompanied by a team of officials. Upon discovering the unclean and filthy condition of the sub-station, which spans approximately 4 acres in the capital city, the minister expressed his serious displeasure.

During the visit, the minister stated his intention to inspect the entire area and develop a comprehensive plan to utilize the land effectively for the welfare of the public. He emphasized the need for proper maintenance and renovation of the aging buildings within the sub-station premises.

While inspecting the office building, the minister was taken aback by the dirty surroundings, littered with garbage. He immediately directed the authorities to arrange for labor to clean the entire area within the next two days. Additionally, he mentioned that the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) would be requested to beautify the pond near the office premises, making it accessible to the locals.

When questioned by reporters about power outage issues in various parts of the city and the lack of response on the toll-free number 1912, Minister Nath stated that, to his knowledge, the system was functioning properly and there was no issue with the receiver system. However, he assured that he would double-check for any existing problems based on the complaints received.

The minister’s sudden visit to the Banamalipur power sub-station highlights his commitment to improving the infrastructure and services related to the power sector. It underscores the need for cleanliness, maintenance, and efficient complaint management to ensure the effective functioning of power supply in the region.
