In badminton, India’s PV Sindhu has stormed into the women’s singles quarterfinals of the Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur. She outclassed eighth seed Tomoko Miyazaki of Japan 21-8, 21-13 in just 32 minutes today. Sindhu progressed to the quarterfinal of the Malaysia Open for the fourth time. Sindhu will either take on Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi or Gao Fang Jie of China in the quarter-final tomorrow. Earlier in the day, India’s Ayush Shetty lost to World No. 1 Shi Yuqi of China in the men’s singles second round. Lakshya Sen was too bowed out in the same category.
