Punjab Assembly session extended; debate on replacing CISF with state police at dams

The two-day special session of the Punjab Assembly has been extended by two days.
 
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Kultar Singh Sandhwan (संधवां) announced this during the second day of the session.  The Vidhan Sabha will meet at 2 pm on Monday and at 10 am on Tuesday. Saturday and Sunday will remain holidays.
 
Proceedings are going on discussing the deployment of the Punjab Police at the Bhakra Dam and other dams in the state instead of the CISF. State Water Resources Minister, Barinder Kumar Goyal, raised the issue in the assembly and said that the assembly request the Punjab government to take up the matter with the Central government.
