Prof. Kashinath Das, Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra passed away at 74 in a private hospital in Kolkata on Friday morning.
Survived by wife, one son and one daughter, Prof. Das was loved and respected by all.
Before joining his service as Professor in Maharaja Bir Bikram College, he had worked as a teacher in Kulai School. After his retirement, Prof. Das had joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan as Director. He was always very close to his students and juniors.
He was infected by Coronavirus and admitted in a Kolkata-based hospital where he lost the battle for life at 9 am on Friday morning.
A formidable Naxal leader in his college life Prof Das was later engaged in various social works and also ran an NGO.
Debashis Chakraborty, vice-chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra condoled the demise of Prof. Das and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family on behalf of the entire Bhavan’s family.
