President, Prime Minister & other dignitaries express grief over demise of former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries have expressed grief over the demise of former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shibu Soren. In a social media post, President Murmu said that Mr Soren’s demise is a big loss in the space of social justice. She highlighted that he championed the cause of tribal identity and formation of the state of Jharkhand. The President noted that his emphasis on the welfare of the people, especially the tribal communities, will always be remembered.
Prime Minister Narendar Modi termed the former Jharkhand Chief Minister as a grassroots leader who rose through the ranks of public life with unwavering dedication to the people. Prime Minister Modi said that Mr. Soren was particularly passionate about empowering tribal communities, the poor and downtrodden. Mr Modi expressed his thoughts with Mr. Soren’s family and admirers. The Prime Minister also informed that he spoke to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and expressed his condolences.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed condolences over the former Jharkhand Chief Minister’s demise. Mr Singh called him as one of the country’s senior-most leaders and  was counted among the towering leaders of Jharkhand who struggled throughout their lives for the rights and empowerment of the weaker sections of society, especially the tribal community. He added that Mr Soren always remained connected to the land and the people.
