President Droupadi Murmu today emphasised the need to adopt Nation First approach by all citizens to become a developed nation. Addressing the 4th edition of Lok Manthan, in Hyderabad, the President emphasised that all citizens must understand the country’s cultural and intellectual heritage and strengthen our invaluable traditions.

Stating that the diversity provides a rainbow of beauty to the country’s fundamental unity, the President said the feeling of national unity has kept the country united despite many challenges.

President Murmu recalled that efforts have been made for centuries to divide and weaken the Indian society.  She stated that artificial distinctions could not break the natural unity and citizens instilled with the spirit of Indianess have kept the torch of national unity lighting.

The President recalled how the influence of Indian ideology has spread far and wide in the world since ancient times, and the entire world appreciated India’s religious beliefs, art, music, technology, medical systems, language, and literature.

Stating that Indian philosophical systems were the first who gave the gift of ideal life values to the world community, President Murmu said it is everyone’s responsibility to strengthen the glorious tradition of our ancestors. She also said for centuries, imperialism and colonial powers not only exploited India economically but also tried to destroy our social fabric. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Coal Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, RSS Sar Sangh Chalak Mohan Bhagawat were among who attended the programme.

After a two-day visit to Hyderabad, the president left for Delhi from Begumpet airport.
