Former Rajya Sabha MP Pratima Bhowmik highlighted the achievements of the BJP-led government in Tripura, urging voters in North Tripura to ensure the victory of BJP candidates in the upcoming three-tier Panchayat polls. On Saturday, Bhowmik addressed a rally at Anandabazar Shed under Rajnagar Panchayat Samiti, seeking votes for BJP candidates Dr. Tamajit Nath, Prashanta Debnath, and Sripada Das for seats No. 13, 14, and 12 of the Zilla Parishad. Local party leaders joined her in the campaign.
Bhowmik asserted that it is the BJP-led government, under the leadership of PM Modi, that has developed infrastructure, connected households with drinking water, and provided other basic amenities in Tripura. She criticized the opposition, particularly the CPI(M), for their lack of contribution during their 25 years of rule, especially in the bordering villages.
“There was a time when people were required to walk in CPI(M) rallies, but now, under Narendra Modi’s government, there are better livelihood options for the people of Tripura,” Bhowmik said. She emphasized that the past 10 years under Modi’s leadership are just a preview of the development expected in the next five years.
Bhowmik also highlighted various state and central government schemes that have improved the quality of life for people, such as the Kisan Samman Nidhi, procurement of rice at MSP, housing under the PMAY Scheme, access to drinking water, toilets, and gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana.
Stressing the government’s focus on development in collaboration with citizens, Bhowmik urged the people to ensure a decisive victory for BJP nominees.
