Tripura achieves two gold medals till date taking part in the National Games-2022, in Gujarat.

State team of five sports disciplines took part in the National Games – 2022, in Gujarat. Out of 15 players, Tripura achieved  two Gold Medals till date. Gymnast Prathistha Samanta from Tripura lifted the two Gold- one in Vaulting Table by scoring 12.634 and  the other Gold medal from the event of Balancing Beam scoring 11.200 on October 2 last.

The Secretary General of Tripura State Olympic Association, Rupak Debroy awarded here with Rs. 20,000.

Tripura State Olympic Association provided all the necessary help to the players.

Asish Kumar Saha, senior Vice President of the State Olympic Association has sent best wishes to Tripura contingent and said that Tripura Athletics tremendously fought in high Jump but for very points could not bag the medal.

In the meantine Newsonair reports that At the 36th National Games, Services continue to dominate with 96 medals including 41 gold, 29 silver, and 26 bronze, followed by Haryana with 72 medals including 29 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze. Maharashtra is now in third place with 24 gold, 24 silver, and 45 bronze. 
In Boxing, Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain, Commonwealth Games bronze medallists Jaismine Lamboria and Mohammed Hussamuddin registered convincing victories to advance to the next round of their respective weight categories at the Mahatma Mandir yesterday, October 6.
 In Badminton, B Sai Praneeth won the men’s singles and Aakarshi Kashyap the women’s singles badminton events. Ashwini Ponnappa and K Sai Prateek of Karnataka won the mixed doubles badminton event. Pre-tournament favourites N Sikki Reddy and Gayatri Gopichand won the women’s doubles title for Telangana.
 Telangana also won gold in the women’s basketball team defeating Tamil Nadu 67-62 in Bhavnagar. In the men’s basketball team, Tamil Nadu beat Punjab 97-89. 
Olympian Atanu Das of West Bengal won the men’s individual recurve gold, beating Gurcharan Besra of Services in the gold medal match. Haryana bagged the rest of the gold medals in recurve archery – men’s team, women’s team, women’s Individual, and mixed doubles.
