Pradyot Kishore Debbarman says he will respond to political hatred with love and goodwill while promoting youth employment, e-rickshaw distribution, and inclusive development initiatives in Tripura’s ADC areas.

Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Thursday reiterated his commitment to politics rooted in compassion, goodwill, and inclusivity, asserting that he does not believe in responding to criticism with hostility or hatred. Emphasising unity and mutual respect, Debbarman said he harbours no ill feelings toward any individual or political group in Tripura.

He was speaking at a programme organised by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where 161 electric rickshaws were distributed among unemployed youths. The initiative aims to promote self-employment, enhance income opportunities, and support sustainable livelihoods within the Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas.

Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the event, Debbarman said his approach to public life is guided by love for the people of Tripura rather than political animosity. Without naming any specific political party or leader, he remarked that certain groups often make statements motivated purely by political interests. “I believe in responding to hatred with love and goodwill. Those who oppose me for political reasons will still be met with respect and compassion,” he said, adding that positive change can only be achieved through understanding and empathy.

Highlighting the significance of the e-rickshaw distribution programme, Debbarman said it was designed to empower unemployed youths by providing them with a reliable source of income. He announced that the initiative would be expanded in phases, with plans to distribute an additional 1,600 auto-rickshaws in the near future across ADC areas. According to him, such measures are essential to address unemployment and create self-reliant communities, particularly in rural and tribal belts.

The programme witnessed the presence of several senior leaders and officials, including TTAADC Chief Executive Member Purna Chandra Jamatia, Minister Brishaketu Debbarma, Executive Member Kamal Kalai, MLA Ranjit Debbarma, and other ADC representatives. Debbarman’s mother, Bibhu Kumari Devi, also attended the event, lending her support to the initiative.

Debbarman underlined that the ADC administration has been actively implementing multiple development projects aimed at strengthening livelihoods and improving infrastructure in rural and tribal regions. He dismissed claims suggesting a lack of development in ADC areas, describing such allegations as misleading and politically motivated.

Outlining future plans, Debbarman said efforts are underway to establish cold storage facilities in urban centres to support farmers from rural areas, enabling them to store produce and secure better market prices. He also stressed the importance of expanding tourism-linked employment and providing passenger vehicles to improve connectivity, mobility, and livelihood opportunities.

Reaffirming his vision for Tripura, Debbarman said inclusive development, peaceful coexistence, and economic empowerment would remain at the core of his political agenda. “Development cannot thrive in an environment of hatred. Love, goodwill, and collective effort are the foundations of real progress,” he concluded.
