Prabhas’s horror-comedy The Raja Saab will release in Japan three to six months after its India premiere. Makers confirm a Japanese-dubbed version, banking on Prabhas’s massive fan following and past box office successes in Japan.

Superstar Prabhas is once again poised to strengthen his global cinematic footprint, as the makers of his upcoming horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’ have officially confirmed plans to release the film in Japan within three to six months after its Indian theatrical debut. The announcement comes in recognition of Prabhas’s massive and loyal fan base in Japan, a market where his earlier films have achieved remarkable success.

The confirmation was made during a pre-release promotional event for The Raja Saab, directed by filmmaker Maruthi. During an interaction with the media, producer T G Vishwa Prasad addressed questions regarding the film’s international rollout, particularly its prospects in Japan, where Prabhas has emerged as one of the most popular Indian actors of the decade.

Responding to a query on the subject, Prasad said that the immediate focus remains on releasing the film in Indian languages. However, he confirmed that a Japanese-dubbed version is already part of the release strategy. According to him, The Raja Saab will be dubbed and released in Japan approximately three to six months after the Indian release, ensuring proper localization and marketing for Japanese audiences.

Prabhas’s popularity in Japan has been steadily growing since the release of ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, both of which performed exceptionally well in the country. The actor recently visited Japan for the release of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, a combined version of the two films, which once again drew large crowds and reaffirmed his star power overseas.

Even before Baahubali, Prabhas had tasted success in Japan with the action thriller ‘Saaho’, directed by Sujeeth and co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. Saaho went on to create history by becoming the highest opening Indian film in Japan, playing to packed houses and receiving strong audience response. These achievements have made Prabhas one of the few Indian actors with sustained box office appeal in the Japanese market.

Meanwhile, the producers are also carefully planning the film’s domestic distribution. While the exact number of screens for The Raja Saab in Tamil Nadu has not yet been finalized, the makers are optimistic about securing between 150 and 200 screens in the state, reflecting strong confidence in the film’s pan-Indian appeal.

The buzz around The Raja Saab has been steadily building over the past few weeks, particularly after the release of its spine-chilling and visually striking trailer. The trailer, praised for its sharp editing, atmospheric visuals, and intriguing tonal balance, has significantly heightened anticipation among fans and film enthusiasts alike.

One of the key reasons behind the heightened expectations is that The Raja Saab marks Prabhas’s first full-fledged horror entertainer. Known primarily for action epics and high-octane thrillers, the actor is stepping into uncharted territory with this project. His transformation into a character set within a horror-comedy framework has sparked intense curiosity across social media platforms.

The film’s technical crew adds further weight to its promise. Cinematography is handled by Karthik Palani, whose visual storytelling is expected to enhance the film’s eerie yet colorful atmosphere. Music is composed by Thaman S, whose background scores and songs have played a crucial role in elevating several major commercial hits in recent years.

Adding glamour and freshness to the narrative is the film’s leading cast, which includes Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar. The trio is expected to bring charm, elegance, and emotional depth to the film’s supernatural setting, complementing Prabhas’s central role.

With a unique genre blend, a globally recognized star, and confirmed international release plans, The Raja Saab is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Indian films of the year. Its planned Japan release further underscores the growing global reach of Indian cinema and Prabhas’s enduring appeal beyond national borders.
